Queer Multimedia Artist

My work explores self-construction and identity. I am interested in our self perceptions and the way that we conceive of our place in the world. My work often involves the interaction between body and landscape and blurs the distinctions between them. I am interested in the ways that we understand our connections to the world around us, and the way that we conceive of ourselves in relation.

My work is very process oriented, often manifesting as an accretion of layers and marks building up a visually complex textured surface. This is an extension of my ideas of “becoming” and “self-creation” as an ongoing process of creativity and curation: building upon our past and consciously choosing elements to maintain, suppress, or exaggerate.
